January 27, 2012
Program expanded to include Canadian-based professionals
Vector Security, Inc. is accepting applications for its 2012 Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) Scholarship Program until March 16th. Applications are available online via Vector Security's website at www.vectorsecurity.com/lpfscholarship and on the Loss Prevention Foundation's website at www.losspreventionfoundation.org.
New for 2012, the program is expanded to include loss prevention professionals based in Canada.
The scholarships cover all course and exam fees for retail loss prevention professionals who wish to obtain LPF's Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) or Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) certifications.
Anyone currently in the loss prevention industry, or has an interest in the industry, may apply for an LPQ scholarship. Those applying for the LPC scholarship must meet certain eligibility requirements. Detailed information can be found on Vector Security's website.
Ten LPQ and 10 LPC scholarships will be awarded to U.S.-based professionals, while another five LPC scholarships will be awarded to professionals based in Canada.
Vector Security created the LPF Scholarship Program in 2009 to support on-going education that creates additional value to the loss prevention industry. "This year, we are pleased to expand the program into Canada," said Michael Grady, Executive Vice President, Vector Security, "where the loss prevention profession is experiencing rapid growth."
"We are extremely proud to have Vector Security as a partner in bringing professional certification to our industry," said Gene Smith, LPF President. "They understand and value that continuing education in this field is key to reducing loss and maximizing profits."
Vector Security has awarded 60 scholarships totaling more than $60,500 since the program began.
